What’s New:
A brief look at what are the latest additions to Designs by Kathy.
Acrostics are vertical designs that use words and “mini” designs to spell out a place or item.
These subjects have been primarily drawn from the salt marshes around Chincoteague, Virginia although other beaches have provided inspiration. Some are available in kit form. “A Prayer to Animals” can be found here.
These designs are inspired by salt water beaches and marshes and are generally good places to start for the beginner stitcher or if you’re looking for a nice “quickie” stitching project.
Included in this section are a number of designs for Virginia Military Institute, the Washington and Lee University crest and the Ferrum College seal. Most are available in both chart and kit forms.
We all love freebies and here are some quickies to introduce you to my design style.
This is a collection of both sampler styles and realistic interpretations of buildings. Here you will find designs inspired by Berkeley Plantation and Evelynton Plantation in Charles City, Virginia along with historical buildings in Richmond, Virginia such as the State Capitol and the Stewart-Lee House.
Kits:
This is the collection of designs that are available in kits. Unless otherwise noted they contain 14 count fabric, floss, the chart, and a needle so that you can start stitching right away.
There is a little overlap here with the historical buildings but included is the Assateague Lighthouse and the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in its new location.
No matter how careful we are, mistakes will slip past. Here are corrections that I have found or have been brought to my attention
The samplers included are not simply reproductions. I’ve taken the feel and general design of a traditional sampler and added a more contemporary touch in both subject matter and color.
This is a section that is definitely going to be expanding because we all love the various holidays. It includes Halloween and Christmas designs at the present.
Welcome to the very latest in both concept and the number of designs offered within a single booklet. The first book available is “Autumn Leaves” but “Faux Snowflake” and “Spring Blooms” will be coming soon. The concept is to take a basic repeating motife to serve as theme for a variety of table linens, decorative items and stitching accessories such as scissor fobs.
